ivanhoe reservoir, los angeles
the first batch of 400,000 4 inch, black plastic balls were released to form a floating cover over 7 acres of the reservoir. conceived to protect the water from sunlight, because when it mixes with the bromide and chlorine in the water, the carcinogen bromate can form. they will release approximately 3 million in total. it looks amazing, and i'm very happy that its not a sony advert.
